5 WAYS TO SAVE ON SUBSCRIPTION COSTS FOR ONLINE BUSINESS OWNERS

do you know how much all those subscriptions are really adding upto?

Multiple and possibly unnecessary outgoings in business expenses is a huge complaint I hear about from my clients. And now with the current media obsession with ominous reports of a recession ready to ambush us at any moment …..  it may be time for a little digital declutter to simplify all those apps and platforms you’re currently using and start saving on the ££s.

Check out my top tops to instantly cut back on your business costs…

1. Pay annually

You can instantly start saving yourself 15-20% on your expenses when you start paying annually for your subscription costs.

Check these out for examples

Zoom: £119.90 PA vs £11.99 per month = savings £23.98

Dubsado: $400 PA vs $40 PM = Savings $80

Squarespace: £180 PA vs £21 PM =Savings £72

Canva Pro: £99.99 PA VA £10.99 PM = savings £31.89

QUICK TIP: Work out your total annual subscription costs, split it into 12 and then create a pot in your bank account called “Subscriptions”. Send a transfer monthly of that amount so it’s not a sudden shock when your annual fees come up.

2. Check your website plan!

Are you utilising all the features you're paying for?

If you require custom coding, E-commerce platforms and membership capabilities then this may require a more premium plan, however, if you don’t need these then you may be able to get away with a more basic pricing structure.

I recently discovered a client was paying for a business E-commerce Wix plan @ £27 per month and not using any of the add-on features and actually only required the Unlimited plan @ £11 per month …. instant £192 saving per year!

3. Save yourself instant ££s & stop using Linktree

If you have a website then first things first is you DO NOT want to be redirecting people to a 3rd party platform.

You can also create a customised Linktree style page on your website platform which will not cost you extra. Check out the link in my bio to see my Squarespace example.

QUICK TIP: If you don’t have a website, there are other workarounds e.g. if you already use Dubsado then you can create a custom and fully branded landing page to redirect your audience.

4. Do you really need it?

Remember we are generation rent!

We do not own the music we listen to, the films we watch, or the systems and tools we use to run our business. These subscription costs can add up to insane amounts. I’m talking about payment processors, CRM systems, course & membership hosting, email marketing, websites, domains, project management tools, accountancy software…the list goes on.

Take a look at what you’re paying for, and check if you’re utilising it to its full potential, does it save you time? How often do you use it? Does another platform you pay for already have this feature?

5. It’s a little bit of a cheeky one

If you’ve reviewed the subscriptions you're currently paying for and you’re still unsure if you need it or not, then you can still start saving money now and buy yourself some extra time whilst you ponder if you’re ready to bite the bullet & part ways!

Go to cancel your subscription, and most of the time, you’ll be taken through to about 4-5 pages first before you actually can confirm, you know the ones…. "Are you sure you want to do this?" .... "Is there anything we can do before you go?" ... "Did you know our system can do this and this"….

and then finally….

"Did you know We can offer you 50% off for the next 6 months if you stay!"

Cha ching…. Start saving now!
